The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is currently recruiting for a year-long industrial placement to be based in Coventry for the 2018-19 academic year (commencing September 2018).
The MTC develops and proves innovative manufacturing processes and technologies in an agile, low risk environment, in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. They focus on delivering bespoke manufacturing system solutions for their customers.
The post is based in their controls and connectivity team. The successful applicant will contribute to research and project delivery in automated manufacturing processes.
The MTC welcome seeing enthusiastic candidates equipped with fundamental skills in programming (C++ or C#, for example), control theory, Matlab/Simulink, sensing technologies, modelling of dynamic systems, interests in new technologies such as IoT, and being very willing to learn. An academic background in robotics, automation and/or mechatronics would be ideal.
