STEM outreach in primary schools – volunteers needed!

Promote the role of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).

Join a team of STEM students to prepare and deliver interactive workshops in local primary schools (all genders welcome). Engage children (9-11 years) with STEM subjects and promote the role of women in STEM. You will go in a team to a school one afternoon a week for 4 weeks (Week 4-7) to deliver a 1.5 hour session. You will also need some time with your team for planning the sessions. Basic session plans are in place for your team to tweak:

Topics include:

  • Bridge Construction
  • Dinosaurs
  • Space
  • Energy

Project leader roles are also available. We will reimburse travel costs.

Come along to the Volunteering Office in the Students Union to sign up by 2nd February.  Places will be filled on a first come, first served basis and this is always a popular opportunity so don’t delay!
