In the UK, there are 850,000 people with dementia. This is set to rise to over 1,000,000 by the year 2025.
Sheffcare oversees a number of elderly care homes for people with dementia in Sheffield. They need volunteer help to engage with their residents and provide a wide range of opportunities to enhance their services.
Volunteers will visit and befriend residents of a Sheffcare Care Home to improve their health and well-being and enhance their overall quality of life.
This can include: befriending residents and reminiscing, reading to residents, helping residents join in a wide variety of activities, accompanying residents on trips with other members of staff.
