Vacancy: Product Support Engineer – Pyramid Engineering

Pyramid Engineering are looking for a Product Support Engineer to take on a permanent role within their company.

Primary Role:  To support the manufacture, testing, installation, commissioning and after sales service and backup for a range of bespoke production equipment for the Semiconductor, Aerospace, Defence and Research industry. The applicant must be willing to travel overseas and within the UK and be able to spend several days away. Would include travel mainly to China and Russia for a period of around two weeks and be flexible with travel dates. On average 6 trips a year.

Key Skills: Computer Literate, working mechanical and electrical knowledge of special purpose machinery, diagnostic skills, PLC usage and programming awareness, working knowledge and programming capability. Understanding of machine operating principles including Pneumatic, Servo and stepper controls and associated sensors and control devices.

Secondary Skills: Knowledge of wiring principles and soldering. Use of basic hand tools and test equipment. Working knowledge of CAD preferable AutoCad. Customer/End user interface skills to allow training of local staff following installation and during after sales visits. Able to work on site without supervision and be resourceful and well motivated.

Expected Tasks undertaken: Help with production in our UK facility and final testing of equipment under supervision. Modifications to software Visual Basic working alongside our software engineer. Some Plc programming modifications and upgrades to existing programmes. Electrical panel wiring in work shop when needed. Installation, testing and commissioning of equipment on customer site. Followed with acceptance procedures and training for engineers. After sales service or breakdown visits normally at short notice.
