Register your summer placement now!

Are you completing a work placement this summer?

The placement team at the Careers Service love to hear what students are doing over the summer and it’s important that you tell us if you’re doing work experience, whether it’s a week or 3 months!

Why we need your help
It’s important that as many students as possible provide their feedback for the survey to generate reliable information. By telling us where you’re going and what you’re doing, we can collect vital information for the University, your department and future students. We’ll use this information to better understand the experience of our students, help inform change and allowing us to build work experience opportunities based on what student are wanting and currently doing.

In 2015, we learnt key information from our students who completed the #TakeUSwithyou survey, such as 20% of students were undertaking placement abroad and 22% were undertaking placement on an “unpaid” basis. Important information we are using to shape placements for the future.

In 2016, we’re hoping more students will join us. To upload your information we need you to register for the University’splacement database (if you haven’t already) – then click on the placement secured tab and enter your details under the summer placement section. It’ll only take a couple of minutes.

What’s in it for you?
Once you’ve updated these details, we’ll keep in touch with you over the summer, letting you know about ways you can win cash/goodies from undertaking a work placement, but more importantly, how you can use your summer placement in the future when applying for jobs and will really make you stand out from the crowd.
